About Bear

Adoption Fee: $350
Australian Cattle Dog / Border Collie
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Anyone need a helper on the farm? Look at Bear! He's got the moves, the eye, he really wants to work! Bear is really a stellar dog. His drawback is he is afraid of kids. So, no kids. That's all. He's been a great pack dog, and loves our hikes, but he really wants to help me whenever he can. If a dog isn't loading up quick enough, Bear rounds them up! I'm looking for that home for him! He'd be great. He's so obedient. Wants to please you Sooooo badly! Bear has been severley overlooked! He should have been in a home long ago. He has been doing some great work while in rescue. Bear has evolved! And it's always been clear, he'd like to have a job. Bear is great in the house or the car. He loves other balanced dogs. He's been great in my pack. And he loves people! But, he's got a thing with kids, he is afraid of them. He needs to have kids leave him be. He is so sweet, gers right under your hand and looks up longingly, 'take me home' he seems to say. Very, very affectionate dude. About 3 1/2 yrs old. Bear was originally found by someone driving through Squaw Valley. They opened their door, and Bear jumped right in! That was May 4th, 2021. Don't know what his history prior to that was. The finder would have kept Bear but their dogs didn't accept him. I am here to say that was not Bears problem. He's with so many dogs all the time. He's very social. Webster looks like a cow he'd like to round up, but he's easily verabally corrected! 'Bear, sit!' He complies. Bear is alway off leash with all the trust that goes with that. He sticks close by. And, of course he runs to that whistle! Bear knows commands. Comes, sits, lies down, and stays. Bear could defintely help out on the farm. He's worked before and you can tell. Bear was dropped with Animal Compassion Team in the Central Valley, adopted and returned, a couple of times. He just didn't like kids messing with him when he came here, now he wiggles around under a childs hand for affection. But I don't want him in a home with kids. Since Bear has been here, he's good with everyone, including kids. But that's with me. When I have let him go home with a family with a kid, he growls at the kid. Bear is Cattle Dog and Border Collie. Very smart, you need to be smarter. Lots of energy, you need that that lifestyle too. Needs, wants and loves to be loved, that is teamwork between Bear and his person/s. Check out his photos and video Or apply and meet him, see what you think.
