Tilly 4 Years Old Female Mellow Male Dog Friendly with slow introductions Cat Friendly Crate trained Older children preferable Learning basic commands Fostered in Sandy, OR Hello new friends, I'm Tilly and I came into rescue with Buddy as a bonded pair. We lived together in a backyard and even though I'm only 4 years old, we had several litters of puppies together. That was really hard work and I'm so glad I don't have to do that anymore. Sadly, I lost Buddy unexpectedly the day after surgery to remove his tumors. I had surgery the same day so I didn't know what had happened and was confused by his disappearance and felt so lost without him. Fortunately, my foster parents understood and gave me lots of love and allowed me time and space to grieve. Mom even slept in the room with me so I wouldn't be alone. I do feel better but I still miss Buddy terribly. It's hard losing your only companion and friend so suddenly. Foster Mom says there is a great future ahead for me. My foster family has helped me get on track to regaining my girlish figure and that in turn gave me more energy so I can now even run and chase a ball! I still have a ways to go but I like going on walks and eating healthy food so I know I'll be lean and trim again soon. I've learned about so many new things. I like my stuffed toys! I fetch and carry a tennis ball around when I'm outside. I do like being outside as long as it isn't raining or really hot. Going through a doorway and into a house was pretty scary and I had no idea what steps were, but I'm a quick learner and I like having AC and heat and always being comfortable. I've even tried out the sofa and while I like it, it's still a little scary up there right now. I've learned some commands now and am learning how to walk on a leash. Once I get into the car, I like going for rides and seeing new things. I love people after I've met them and know they're friendly. I haven't been around little kids so I think I need some experience before I live with them. Since the world is totally new to me, loud noises can be pretty scary to me. I've only been around my one Boxer friend so I'm not sure about all dogs but I'd really like to meet a nice easy going guy so I would have a best friend again. I would also do best with a patient family who would love and give me reassurances, preferably with someone home most of the time, and able to help me build confidence with love and encouragement. From Foster Mom: Tilly is small in stature but packs a huge personality. She apparently had no prior leash training and initially, when she was tired of walking, she would just lie down and roll onto her back with her legs straight in the air. She's really coming out of her shell and wants to please. She forms strong bonds and will become your best friend. She still has some anxiety in new situations and without having her Buddy around but she is a resilient girl. If you want a sweet, funny, little character - Tilly's the one for you! http://Bit.ly/WHBRadopt
