About Blaze

Blaze is a super sweet and loving 6 month old, adorable mixed breed pup who weighs approximately 30 pounds. Blaze was adopted from us as a little puppy and recently returned, basically for being a puppy. Blaze lives to play and needs an energetic forever family who will spend time with him and give him the training that he needs to grow up to be a well behaved adult dog! He gets lots of exercise and stimulation in his foster home, and we believe that is key to his success! He loves doing and learning and getting lots of praise for good behavior. Blaze also very much enjoys being part of a family, playing and exploring his world. During downtime, he is happy to curl on the couch with his family. At night, he sleeps cuddled in bed with his people. It's sad to say this, but at 6 months old it seems like he's just learning how to play with toys, and he loves them! He also loves playing with the Weimaraner and the Irish Setter in his foster home, but is not as interested in the little dogs. He is submissive to other dogs of all sizes, and just wants to be friends with everyone! We think he would also be a great companion for an active single person, couple, or family who can give him time and attention. He is fine with cats as well, and would love a home with kids to play with. A fenced yard is a must for this active pup! Blaze does ok on a leash, but needs some more training. He is also working on potty training, sitting, and learning how to use a doggie door. He has been shopping with his foster mom and behaves beautifully in public. Not to mention he always receives dozens of compliments on his handsome coloring and sweet face! One of the reasons he was returned was for chewing, but he has not shown any of that behavior in his foster home. His foster family is making sure he is getting what all puppies need, lots of activity and training! We stress this with almost every puppy post. If you are not willing or able to invest time and energy in a dog, please don't get a puppy. Blaze has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. His neuter is scheduled at the end of this month and is covered by the rescue. Blaze has been through a lot of change in his short life and is just dying to be loved. His family needs to be ready to praise him, exercise him, and, most of all, give him love and teach him confidence.
