About Sage - ESA pet

Meet Sage, a beautiful, brindle boxer gal. Let me tell you about this special little girl. Sage is a well trained gal that wants to please. She is 11 months old, house trained. She is anxious/ nervous if she is left alone to long as she is trained to be an emotional support animal (ESA), and hates not being with her humans. She loves cats,or other larger dogs. A buddy cat or extremely mellow, easy going dog would be a huge plus. Sage will be very in tune with your emotions. She is a huge emotional support animal, an ESA dog. She was with a gal that had anxiety attacks at times, and this is what she is trained for. Sage would crawl into her lap, and wrap herself around the gal like a sloth and lick away her tears and fears. She will stick by your side constantly. She is trained not to leave your side. She bonds very quickly with her person. She will nudge under your chin to get you to look up and engage her. Sage wants you to be happy, as that makes her happy. She will do her darnest to help you feel better and try to cheer you up. She is playful, does very well on a lease, enjoys walks in town, on trails or parks. This cute little gal knows come commands such as sit, play by yourself, get a toy, and get the stick (bigger the better). Sage doesn't like rain or snow but will go outside to go potty, (there is medication that will be sent with Sage for stressful situations, that she will be on while she adjusts), but she is oddly alright with thunder and fireworks. The adorable thing Sage does is hops like a bunny when she is excited. She doesn't mind you being silly with her such as putting hats on her. She will make eye contact and listen to you speak with her. Her head will move from one side to the other, as to acknowledge what your saying, as any good listener would. Sage's perfect home would be with a fenced back yard, with someone the works from home or is retired. Older, easy going kids over the age of 13 would be ok. She is fearful of small kids as they come up to her to fast, she will growl out of fear of them, as she is not sure if they will be nice to her. She was left in a crate for long periods of time as a tiny puppy which caused the fear of crates. Sage just wants to love you with her whole heart, and take care of you and wants you to love her. You would be her world. She needs someone who will being willing to give her 2 to 4 weeks to adjust, and is an experienced dog person. We have her on medication to help her transition to a new home. She takes her medication with peanut butter easily. Sage has worked with a dog trainer and is very smart. She needs you to be consistent and very patient at first. She will blossom once she trust you and be the most wonderful dog you could ever want. If you are interested in adopting Sage, please request an adoption application.
