About Leftovers

'Yes, you read that right. Yes, my name is Leftovers!' When the shelter I was in got full, other rescues offered to take everyone but me! So Augusta Dog Adoptions saved me! You know the president of ADA thinks she's so cute and clever and named me 'Leftovers!' I don't think they should let her name the dogs anymore but she said I could come to ADA so I won't compain too much! She explained to me that I'm like a crock of brown beans on the third day or a piece of cold pizza for breakfast when you stayed a the bar too late last night! Sometimes you can't beat leftovers! I'm a young guy who is about 1-2 years old and weighs about 60 pounds. I'm happy and friendly and I love to play with a whole pack of dogs in my foster home! I did give that ADA president a surprise when I got to them because I tested positive for heart worm disease. I've now been treated and I'm ready to live a long healthy life but I don't really want to be a leftover anymore. This time, I want someone to choose me first for a change! Can I count on you? Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
