About Petey

VIDEO INCLUDED: Everyone, this is Petey, our shelter survivor. He is still waiting for his forever home. He is a special boy, who sadly holds on to the trauma he must have experienced in his past and he's a bit untrusting of people. It takes him quite a while to warm up to his humans. He needs a special family that is going to love him for everything he's endured and been through, and will be able to give him all the patience in the world he needs to feel safe and come out of his shell and to trust his family. And he needs a very compassionate family that will be forgiving of the occasional nips he will give as he works through his fears. However, when he is ready, he would jump in your lap and allow you to pet him! He would lay on the couch or in bed with you, and get love and affection from you. He does great with other dogs. Doesnt care much about cats. No children, please. He'd love to go to a home with a backyard as he enjoys leisure activities in the backyard very much. Petey LOVES chasing butterflies and moths ... and he loves basking in the sun!! He also likes to put himself to bed every night. He often jumps up in his foster's bed, and nuzzle his head to lift the comforter, and then crawl underneath it and burrow himself and go to sleep. His foster said it's the cutest thing ever! In addition, Petey is a vocal boy. It's just something cute and silly that he does!
