About Travis

Adoption Fee: $350
Border Collie mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Travis (also known as Peanut) is a seven-year-old, 33-lb border collie mix currently being fostered in Clermont, FL (Lake County). This guy has been through so much, but you wouldn't know it based on his happy, resilient personality. And it's not you. He's definitely winking. Travis has a condition called microphthalmia, which gives him the appearance of a permanent wink. It doesn't bother him, and he thinks it just makes him extra cute. Travis found himself at Ewenity after his owner was in an accident. He came into rescue heartworm positive; however, he has completed treatment and is now heartworm negative. During his treatment, he may have experienced a stroke, as his back legs have become a bit weaker. He has had some damage to his heart, and he will always need to be on medication. Luckily, we have no problem giving him his meds since he loves food so much! You might even get a two-legged hop out of him at dinner time! Travis just wants to be near his human at all times. He loves to lie near you on the couch, on the floor, under your chair on the patio %BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD| it doesn't matter as long as it's where you are! He's a smart guy who is potty trained and crate trained. He listens well, and enjoys a daily routine. He has been great in the car and off leash. Travis can be a little nervous when you first meet him, and he is not a fan of thunderstorms (he'll run right for his crate). Travis would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard and no other pets. He arrived with other dogs, but since then, he prefers to be on his own. Travis is looking for a foster or adopter. Do you think you might be able to give Travis his happily ever after?
