ROCCO - ID #A5408144 - RESCUE ONLY Baldwin Park Shelter, Baldwin Park, So Cal Rocco is an adorable 6 yr young, 38 lb male lab/pittie looking mix who has been at the shelter for 4 months and was not listed until now. His behavior notes are wonderful: 'Rocco A5408144 greeted the runner with a neutral tail wag, soft eyes, his ears were back, his tail wagged excitedly and he had a soft pant. He solicited affection from the runner and brushed his body against the door. When the runner attempted to leash him, he dodged the leash a few times and became a little nervous. The runner was able to safely leash him after a few attempts. Once out of the kennel he pulls strongly on leash. He was easy to collar and leash. At the fence when he was introduced to the other dogs his tail was high with no wag, his eyes were soft, he was interested and sniffed the dogs and his body was neutral. He entered the yard and exchanged appropriate greetings with the dogs. He then began to explore the yard and anytime the dogs would approach him, he would pop into a play vow position. He attempted to mount Blackie, but was easily corrected by the handler. None of the dogs engaged in play with him but he continued play vowing to them anytime they were around and would bounce his body around. He solicited affection from the handler, his body was relaxed, his eyes were soft and his mouth was open with a soft pant. Overall Rocco was social with the dogs and would do best in a push/pull group.' Per the shelter, he has a bite history but no one seems to have any information on this; however, an indemnity waiver is required to be signed for the rescue that takes him.
