About Loma

Adoption Fee: $350
Australian Shepherd mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

She's about 9 months old and appears to be an Australian Shepherd mix, with Kelpie black and tan markings. This is a new album just for Loma. Her first photos are in the album of both dogs. Loma went into the shelter with another dog Mija. I think turned in together, but regardless they clung to each other like life lines and are still pretty tight. We hit a little bump when I had to go get them and they were loose on about 1/2 acre. Had to trap them both. But we got them here. They decompressed in a kennel run and got leash training every day. Loma is now trusted to go off her leash on our country mountain hikes. She loves the water! Runs her snout through it like a submarine, and she swims! This summer, every time we go back the van, the others load right up, but Loma takes a quick run down to the creek, soaks herself, and runs back to jump in the van, sopping wet! I can predict this. Loma knows her name, she will allow me to pet her and call her in when we are off leash, and she gets in and out of the van at my will, and boy, Loma LOVES to go in the van. She's great in a vehicle. So with or without Mija, we're looking for the right home for Loma. She is fine with all people, just needs a minute before coming up to anyone. She was basically a feral dog. But she now takes treats, loves to go on hikes, she stays with the pack and she comes to the coaches whistle! Loma has a lot of energy and I'm looking for an active person or family. She'd be great with another dog or dogs. Have no idea about cats, but she seems to want to chase noises she hears in the brush so I think she's got some prey drive. Maybe no cats. Interested in Loma?
