SPOTTY is a senior pit bull mix who will be 12 years old in October. He has been chained his whole life on a heavy tow chain. He is blind and heartworm positive. He is currently in foster care but needs to be in a forever home where he can get acclimated so he can start heartworm treatment in August. Because he is blind he is very unsure of his movement in unknown surroundings, therefore he must be with an owner who is able to frequently pick him up. He weighs 60 lbs. SPOTTY is working on house training, does pee outside and will use pee pads in the kitchen where he mostly stays. The Backyard Dog Project will arrange/pay for him to be neutered once he completes heartworm treatment. That treatment will consist of one shot in August and two shots in September during which time he must be kept calm. That should not be a problem as foster mom says he loves to be indoors lounging on the loveseat! This guy is starved for attention and will cuddle all day! We're looking for an adopter who is experienced with blind seniors and heartworm treatment. If you can give SPOTTY the indoor home he deserves please contact us! Adoption application is at www.thebackyarddogproject.com/adoption-application and a home visit is required.
