About Princess & Betty

Princess and Betty are happy little girls. They love attention and love to be held and cuddled. Princess and Betty are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together. They have lost enough in their life and deserve to stay together. Princess is Betty's mom and is a senior. Betty is about 3 years old. They weigh just 6 pounds each and are Papillion and Chihuahua mixes. These little girls came to us from a domestic abuse situation. They were found in a kennel locked in a closet and were very dehydrated, hungry and crawling in fleas. Despite the way humans treated them they are the sweetest little things. They do well with other small dogs and pretty much love everyone they meet. Princess has some health issues we can't fix. At some point she had a spinal injury, we suspect from being kicked. There are 3 discs in her back that are fused together. Princess also has bad knees like so many tiny little dogs. When we got Princess she could not walk and had open sores from fleas and from dragging her hind end around. Princess is now walking slowly, she isn't very steady on her paws but gets around well. We also put Princess in a cart when she really wants to move around quickly. Princess is not spayed and has three loose teeth left. It was our vet's recommendation not to spay her or do anything about her teeth because of her age. Princess takes a liquid arthritis medication daily which has really made her comfortable. Betty is spayed and just had a dental. When our vets went to do her dental they discovered that her upper jaw is broken. This injury was probably due to a kick from a human. Her jaw is healing, because of the location of the break we can't intervene medically. Because they are tiny little girls their new home should not have children until 10 years of age. They would love a fenced yard so they can explore. Princess and Betty are house trained, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm tested.
