About Theodore

Corgis are often referred to as 'loafs' and that term describes Theodore perfectly! He is a tiny little Corgi loaf. Theodore is 5 years old, neutered, current on vaccines and heart worm prevention and has his microchip. Theo is only 20 lbs and is petite for a Corgi but he fits a lot of personality into those 20 lbs! He came into rescue because he was anxious and seemingly impossible to house train. He peed everywhere he wanted. Theo was on multiple prescriptions for anxiety. Once he came into rescue, under the advice of our veterinarian, we slowly tapered him off his meds while at the same time put him on a schedule and began the process of house training. Theo has come such a long way. Once off the meds, his anxiety levels dropped dramatically and he is doing much better on his house training. He now knows to go outside but does have an occasional accident in the house but knows to use pads. His future family will need to be patient with Theo while he acclimates to a new home and routine. He loves being a part of the pack at his fosters home. He's good with other dogs but can be a little over energetic for some dogs. Theo is very enthusiastic at times and some dogs don't appreciate that. When they let him know, he will back off. Theo is also good with cats and kids age 10 and up. This little loaf loves to be snuggled and will roll over for belly rubs. Otherwise he's not a fan of his belly, feet or hind end being touched. This is how his Forth Worth foster family describes Theo: 'High energy, Playful barker, growler, agility moves like Jagger. Chases his tail like he has one. Loves to be held and then lets you know when to let him down. Love treats, cats, toys, balls. Chases cats, squirrels, birds. Good fly catcher. Needs learn down so not to put paws on you.'
