Meet Merlin Handsome Merlin is looking for his forever home. This big boy is a snuggly guy. He loves being next to his person and welcomes attention. He's very affectionate and loves nothing more than a good belly rub. Merlin loves watching the world from the safety of his cat tree. He is a wonderful, sweet and silly companion. Merlin has been living in a home, and he will stay with his mom until we can find the perfect home for him. He loves being an inside kitty and looking out of windows all over the house. Unfortunately, Merlin has started bossing his brother around, which has been known to happen among siblings (his brother is less confident than Merlin.) It may just be a growing sibling rivalry, but various options have not brought the boys together. To ensure his brother doesn't live in fear, the owner has made the difficult decision to try and find Merlin another home, thinking he'll adjust to a new environment easier. Because of this, Merlin will only be adopted a home without other kitties. He will continue to be fostered until the best/right home can be found for him. He's absolutely amazing in every way. If you're looking for a lovely cat to keep you company, Merlin is that guy. . Merlin was declawed by a previous owner. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Our shelter is currently closed to the general public as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. However, for approved adopters we are making appointments to meet and adopt your fur baby.
