About Lita

Lita is a very complex girl. She came into rescue after her owner passed away. She is a very nervous girl that is scared of the slighest sound. Thunder, fireworks, a loud truck passing by, loud music, etc. She finds comfort in her crate. It's her safe spot. Lita had been adopted twice with 2 totally different results. In her first home, just as she began to adjust, a neighbor started hunting. The gunshots scared her to the point that she refused to go outside anymore. In her second home, there was an altercation with a smaller dominant dog in the home. The smaller dog was injured but luckily recovered. They were left unattended, so we don't know what exactly happened. She was in each home for about 2 weeks and was returned to rescue each time. In an effort to find the best home, we had a dna test done. The shelter had labeled her as a parson russell terrier. They were wrong. Her breeds include American Staffordshire terrier, dalmation, Chihuahua & cocker spaniel followed by a few other small breeds. I know this sweet girl will thrive in the right home. If you have the time and patience that Lita needs, please send us a message. She does require a secure fenced yard due to being so nervous. She will run to hide when scared. No young children as their energy level will scare her. She has done well with dogs her size. Often even comforted by their presence. She does need to be fed separately from other animals and she typically eats & sleeps in her crate. Lita is estimated to be 8 yrs old and currently weighs 23 lbs. You can meet Lita in her foster home in Abingdon Md. Lita has been waiting 2 years now for a home of her own. Her adoption fee is waived.
