Courtesy Posting: HANDSOME YOUNG CREAM PB CHOW BOY NEEDS A CHOW SAVVY ADOPTER/ FOSTER/ RESCUE/ PLEDGES TO SAVE HIS LIFE! FUZZLE Albuquerque Shelter, Albuquerque, NM Fuzzle is a handsome purebred looking young chow that was brought to the Albuquerque shelter by someone who was given him by another family member, both who were unable to care for him unfortunately. He is perfect size at 54 lbs and only 2 years old, but came into the shelter rather neglected with his coat in very poor condition and matting, although his fur was possibly previously shaved down. The shelter has been brushing him as much as he will allow, and says Fuzzle is making positive progress and said, ' He's easy to walk on leash, the biggest issue is taking the leash on and off, since he's very sensitive about hands reaching towards his head and neck. He will allow leashing with a very slow approach, but will flinch and pull away if anyone moves too fast.' We are therefore looking for a chow savvy adopter or foster and rescue who will be patient with him. In the play yard, 'he explored the whole yard, quickly relaxed, tail up, trotted easily around the yard, mouth open, face relaxed.' While he is currently avoidant of other dogs, the shelter thinks he will warm up to calmer dogs in time and said he 'approached and sniffed dogs who were quiet, allowed dogs to sniff him, face remained soft.'
