Goose is the best dog when he feels comfortable. He's smart, playful, athletic, quiet and well-trained. I can't say enough good things about him, comfortable him. He would flourish as a working dog or somewhere spacious where his owner can play frisbee with him in his own environment. Because Goose is not good in public. He's unpredictable and prone to spontaneous snapping and snarling. He's cute so people are drawn to him and he wags his tail which makes him appear friendly, which he sometimes is but most times isn't. He hasn't successfully broken anyone's skin, but he has certainly nipped at least 5 or 6 strangers. He is awful in a dog park or dog beach. He is very aggressive with other dogs especially if he has a toy...although, if he is playing frisbee and another dog is nearby he will completely ignore the dog unless it bothers him. We wouldn't take him out in public if we had room for him at our home to play, which he had the first 18 months of his life before we moved to CA from VA. He is mostly a wonderful family dog. He loves all our kids and adores my husband and I. He wants to play 24/7 but he also snarls at the children sometimes and has succesfully bitten all of us at various points in his life. We have invested loads of money into training. We have never mistreated him. We are sincerely stumped as to where this aggression comes from but for now, we are managing it. We just recognize he could be a liability and might be happier elsewhere. If you can offer Goose a wonderful home, please let us know so we can connect. Ideally, we would love to find someone nearby who would allow us an occasional visit. We love him very much.
