About Charlie 'soul eyes'

Howdy! My name is Charlie, and I'm a sweet, super laid-back 55-pound yellow Lab mix fella who was born in June 2018. I was brought to Miss Donna after I'd survived living on the hard streets all my life. She's very astute and understood that my eyes are the window to my soul. I heard her say recently, 'Charlie's soul is so deep. I see all the pain he's been through,' It took me 6 months for the breakthrough of trusting her and everyone around me -- mostly with the enticement of treats. No one had ever been kind to me, fed me, offered me water -- much less yummy treats. Well, I've decided that climate-controlled indoor life with plenty of food, water, and treats (for my obedience training) is just fantastic! I used to wander aimlessly and alone on the streets. It had never occurred to me that walking with my humans could be exercise, an opportunity to potty, and extra bonding time with them; incidentally, my learning to walk on a leash was a snap! But then again, I'm a bright boy! Although I trust enough to be around other dogs (say at the dog park), frankly I'd prefer to be an only dog in my forever home. I need an adopter who who'll give me time to settle in and who's patient with me. Are you just that right person to believe in me and give me an opportunity to shine like I know I can?
