We rescued Nettie about 6 months ago. She is classic CUR DOG temperament which includes being highly intelligent, athletic, sensitive and protective. She is excellent with all children, does very well at the dog park with other dogs, and accepting of company in our home. However, she is territorial of our property and our house and demonstrates fear of men she doesn't know, particularly people who deliver packages or come to work on our home. She got out of our door and snapped at a delivery man. We live in a very busy neighborhood and can not confidently accommodate her protective nature. If you are familiar with cur temperament and welcoming of a highly intelligent, easily trained, family dog who wants to protect you and your property, this is the pet for you. We have lots of pictures and video of Nettie interacting with our children and family. But again, she wants to protect and needs to work (e.g., a farm or hunting grounds would be perfect for this beautiful and very loved creature).
