About Ricky

Ricky is a male Maltese, approximately 11 pounds, neutered and UTD on vaccines. He will be celebrating his 5th Birthday in September. He gets along with other small dogs but appears to be timid around big dogs. He is mostly potty trained but needs a patient adopter who will help him adjust to a new home. Ricky was transferred to us from a local ACO and is just settling into his foster home after his neuter and dental surgery. He is somewhat of a Velcro dog and often finds himself under feet, so we do not recommend a home with seniors that are not steady on their feet. He is affectionate, has a lot of energy and loves to walk on a leash, but is also happy snuggling on your lap or laying on your laptop when you are trying to work He is being fostered in an adult only home, we are unsure how he is with kids or cats. He does well with the other foster pups in the home. Favorite activities: (We will update as we get to know him) Being with his person Sleeping in the big bed Going for walks Ricky was surrendered to a local animal control officer when his owner was unable to financially provide for him. He came to us with a significant cut on his leg that has been treated and has fully healed. The cut was the result of grooming a severely matted area on his leg. As you can see, he doesn't have the best haircut, but they did the best they could under the circumstances. We would like to find Ricky a forever home with a Maltese savvy mom or dad. However, a mom or dad that is aware that this breed will require a few trips to the groomer a year would be considered.
