This is PINKY (ID #A1876413 2-year-old, chunky low-rider (55 pounds), who is not quite 'in the pink' since being surrendered to the East Valley Animal Shelter, Van Nuys, CA.The reason given for dumping PINKY will blow your mind, as it did mine, and it's likely one you've never heard before. You can read the entire Dog Interview, which is attached, but get this:Side 1: '6. What is the main reason(s) you're giving up this dog? 'FACE DEFORMITY'Side 2: 2. What are your favorite things about this dog....? 'SHE IS MY FRIEND'' WTAF??? I wish I had seen the 'human' at the shelter. I might have thanked him/her for bringing PINKY to the shelter, because she'll be better off without such a hideous 'human', one who kept such a sweet dog outside 24/7. The shelter has turned PINKY blue, and she spends a lot of the time in the kennel cubby. She did okay getting a much-needed bath yesterday, and today I was able to walk her around the shelter and sit with her in the lobby. She did live with young children, but a home that is quieter, where she can decompress, might be best for her, at least for a while. Please Share PINKY to reach someone with compassion and love and who will want to open their home (yes, inside the home) to her and help her get back in the pink. Call the shelter at (888) 452-7381, then press 4 to be connected to the East Valley shelter to schedule an appointment to visit and, hopefully, take PINKY home
