About Whiskey

'Whiskey is a handsome 17-month old Australian Shepherd mix. He weighs about 50 lbs and is neutered and up to date on shots. This boy is full of energy and always ready to play with anyone. He is food motivated and really smart, so he is very responsive to training. He has learned the commands 'sit,' 'stay,' 'heel,' 'leave it,' and learning to fetch and drop, but just needs to be reminded from time to time. He's even learned to roll over and play dead. While walking, he does pull on the leash but will ease off when reminded to 'heel' or with a couple of quick tugs on the leash. He is a great running partner and will stay next to you the entire time. A large, fenced backyard would be ideal for him to run and play and burn off some energy. We are currently working on his reaction to other dogs and have seen improvement. He is not aggressive but expresses frustration when he is not allowed to greet and play with other dogs that he sees. Due to his energy level at this age, it might be better for him to be the only dog in the household. As he gets older or with consistent training, he might learn to socialize more calmly with other dogs. But Whiskey absolutely loves his human family and is sweet with kids. If you are patient, firm, and spend time with Whiskey, you will be rewarded with snuggles and doggy kisses.'
