About Girl

Girl is a 2 year old lab hound mix This long-legged, energetic young momma dog just weaned 8 puppies. She would make a fun addition to a lively household with a fenced in yard and plenty of room to stretch her legs. She has been known to jump over our piano, which exemplifies the need for a fence. She is an adventure seeker, who loves to run literally everywhere and will run far if you let her. The good news is she will always come back as she has a good sniffer and very smart. She is a total goof who will love on you, crawling up into your lap; she'll sit on your lap, sometimes with a need to be reminded of one's personal space, as she may be nose-to-nose with you without batting an eye. That said, she may need a little bit of training in manners and expectations. She is pretty trainable - demonstrating quick learning in our household, responding to simple cues including the usual 'sit' 'stay' and 'treat' and 'no!' She has slowly learned 'to dog,' now playing with toys, which was not her thing when she first arrived to our home. It is apparent she had minimal attention from her previous owners and was initially food aggressive in late December 2020. She now eats with our family dog without any of the previous aggression. She may benefit from a slow-feeder. Otherwise, she has adapted to a fairly normal routine and has responded very well to being with a family and living inside a very busy, lively home.
