About Lucille

Meet beautiful Lucille. She is about two years old, found dumped in western TX with another Doberman. What we thought was a birth defect to her front left leg is actually a severe trauma. There is no correcting the break at her elbow, as the injury happened when Lucille was a pup and the leg has atrophied. Amputation surgery is scheduled for July 27th. Lucille is doing well in her foster home and gets along with the three other dogs in the household. She is a shy girl, housebroken and has good manners BUT she is tempted by food on the counter and stove! ���� She doesn't like loud voices but she takes correction well. Lucille loves the comforts of home and just wants to be near her human. It is apparent that Lucille was never taken for a walk, as she panics when placed on a leash. Her foster mother is working with her on a daily basis, introducing her to a collar & leash and taking her for short walks, etc. Lucille will be available for adoption after she recuperates from surgery. 2020-2021 has given us a run for our money! Lucille is the ninth Doberman requiring ortho surgery.
