About Cockatiel

Bird goes by the name of Pika and has been in family for 17+ years, exact age unknown, my mom had him previously as a rescue. VERY vocal bird, mostly screams, but will occasionally whistle. Lost my other cockatiel I had since a chick in April, they were always in separate cages, but next to each other. He mostly likes interaction with my dog, always supervised. But the dog travels with my husband and I work long hours, not fair to him. Husband is at the end of patience with the vocalization, wears on me as well at times. Doesn't fly even though never clipped, drops like a rock. Likes to climb on cage bars however. Was slightly aggressive with other cockatiel, but the other would just fly away if annoyed. Pika just seams to have an abrasive personality all the years we have had him, worsening with age, but now being alone, it isn't fair to him either. We call him a male but aren't positive about that, although he never had a want to nest all these years.
