About Cody

This gorgeous red boy is Cody, a pup who was born in December, 2020. He is a Cattledog (30%), McNab (15%), mixed breed who weighs about 45 pounds. Cody knows his basics: Sit, down, touch, stay, place, and come (needs more work). He also has started on some basic agility: tunnel, working on low jumps and through hoops. Cody is house and crate trained. Cody is usually a friendly boy who likes to get pets from new and existing friends. That said, he can be nervous with new men, but warms up for folks who know how to greet a herder. He does live with a kid but is nippy and wants to herd, so kids junior high and older only. Cody is good with dogs larger and small. He does like to play. He isn't good with cats. Cody would be a fun adventure partner. He is good in the car and good on leash, though he does pull some. He can be somewhat barky on leash if other dogs bark at him. His folks are working on that. Additional leash training will be good for this guy. Cody would love to have a family who gets him out of a neighborhood and into nature. Hiking or camping would be great for him. He also loves to play in water and would likely enjoy learning to swim. He is super smart. He needs someone who knows how to make training fun and who also knows how to keep a herder mix mentally occupied. Cody is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in South Pasadena. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.
