I am unfortunately I need of rehoming my boy. He is an American Staffordshire Terrier mix, I have owned him since he was just a young pup and this is an absolute last resort. I have been served legal notice that he must be removed from my property within 40 days. Unfortunately, he is dog aggressive to unfamiliar dogs and will need a strong and experienced owner or rescue foundation. He currently lives with 2 small chihuahuas who he has known his whole life but beyond that cannot be around other dogs. I have in the past worked with trainers rather extensively, but I cannot correct his aggressive tendencies. Inside of my home, with direct family and friends he is just fine and very loving although easily excitable and requires some time to acclimate. His general obedience is above average as well and is very well behaved and responsive to lots of basic commands. Trust me when I say this is not what I want to do but I am in a tuff situation with little to no options. I am more than happy to address any questions and speak at length about his current situation but I feel that is a conversation best had directly either by phone or a zoom meeting. I thank you all for any and all suggestion or information you may be able to provide. I will not quit on this dog and I am doing my best to do right by him. Temporary housing/care would be a viable option while I seek housing where I can bring him back under my care. To all others I sincerely thank you from us both. This is a very difficult situation for us all and is heartbreaking. Please know I am doing everything in my power! Any information or possible contacts are greatly appreciated. He also has a pet insurance policy that is in place and I would be happy to keep that in place for some time.
