This handsome guy truly deserves the best FOREVER home where the family will appreciate all the love he has to give! Because of his gentle nature, he would thrive in a variety of environments, including apartments, or with a single person or couple. Liberace will lay at your feet or curl up next to (and sometimes on!) you. He is very food motivated (LOVES wet food!) and knows how to 'sit' and 'shake' with both paws. He walks like a pro on the leash with minimal, if any, pulling or reactivity. The groomer said he was a perfect gentleman during the entire bath and groom, too! He generally does well with, though is typically uninterested in, other dogs. Liberace does exhibit food aggression with other dogs (none with humans) likely due to his time as a stray, so will require feeding and giving treats separately. He also demonstrates separation anxiety, but calms down fairly quickly and is not destructive when left alone (even for longer periods of time). He may require some training to help build his confidence and establish boundaries. Though he might mark once or twice when first entering a new home, he is otherwise completely house trained. Liberace isn't too interested in toys (think of it as a way to save money!), but enjoys asking for pets and playing with his humans when he's excited. Liberace is an adult 2-6 years old and weighs 64 pounds. Visit Liberace at Citrus County Animal Services, 4030 S. Airport Road, Inverness, FL 34450. ID# 47945150.
