About Finnegan

Bengal
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Finnegan is a NAUGHTY (we love him for that) and MANIPULATIVE (that makes us laugh), handsome, gorgeous and amazing purebred 4-year-old Bengal. ***If you are interested in adopting Finnegan, please fill out the application on our website - we cannot answer hundreds of individual questions via the RescueMe platform*** Link: https://bengalrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/ As you read his Bio here, please do so with the theme song 'Bad Boys' from the COPS TV show, playing in the background. This guy is a hustler, and he has ALL the moves. He has enslaved both his family and the neighbor family, and he loves every minute of it. His owner definitely admits that Finnegan has everyone wrapped around his finger. Well - LOOK at him! He is GORGEOUS and with an endless twinkle in his eye. He is always up to something and he's an absolute delight to be around. It all began innocently enough'| Finnegan would enjoy some time supervised in the backyard with his owner, soaking up the sun and the fresh air. And then'| and inch became a mile. He started going a little further every day - but he would come back - so the family felt like he had a good handle on things and it would be OK as it is a safe neighborhood and the neighbors were looking after him too. Soon though, Finnegan began to experience litter box avoidance when he was in the home. He seemed to be triggered by the smell of the resident dog, and would pee on the dogs bed, or in the shower after their dog was bathed in the shower. He would sometimes also urinate in the bathroom sink. His owners extensively vetted him, checking for UTIs, but the Veterinarian could find no direct cause for the inappropriate urination. It was at this point where they felt he would be better off being able to access the outdoors to use his litter box there and not be confined indoors. It all seemed simple enough of an arrangement. Finnegan would have access to the outdoor potty when he wanted it, and would get to go visit the neighbors for treats. His owners soon began to believe that he was a lot happier over at the neighbors, and given what was going on with the litter box situation, they definitely felt relieved. If Finnegan was happy, they were happy. But then things took an alarming turn. Finnegan began to get in fights with the other cats in the neighborhood, and he was picked on by dogs as well. Everyone who loves Finnegan realized at this point that his outdoor 'jaunts' were definitely taking a turn for the worse. We all feel strongly that it is time for Finnegan to get a major re-set. He needs to go to an experienced home that has no other pets, who can keep him entertained and basically put the genie back in the bottle. He definitely needs re-training! This is not an impossible goal - he just needs someone who can reinforce GOOD behavior and give him all of the time and attention that he deserves. All of this said, his owners (and the neighbors) tell us that he is absolutely one of the most soulful and sweet cats they have ever met. He has never met a stranger! He truly is the life of the party and he's super conversational, too. Finnegan loves to climb up high and survey the landscape below him. He's super playful when it comes to toys. He loves a good cuddle on the couch and even loves to sleep in his human's bed. Finnegan is one of the most irresistible Bengals we've ever met. He just needs a 'Life Coach.' Finnegan is neutered and received his Vaccinations. He had a full blood panel in March of 2020 and his bloodwork was 100% normal. He has been tested twice for UTI's and tested negative both times. If you think you could help this gorgeous and winsome guy get back to his roots with a good old fashioned 'reset' - we'd love to hear from you.
