Bailey is the sweetest girl and we are heartbroken about rehoming her, but we know it is the right decision for her. We adopted her from Galveston Island Humane Society in June 2020, and don't have any history on her other than that she was an owner surrender. We now believe she may have been kept tied up in a backyard, as she seems to not have been exposed to many people, sounds or other animals based on her anxiety. Strangers and loud noises make Bailey very anxious, and as we live in an apartment complex in the heart of Houston, these things are impossible to avoid. We have worked with two personal trainers on reducing her anxiety and tried medication with her vet, but neither have led to a significant reduction in her anxiety. When we take her out to quieter suburbs or rural areas, she is like a completely different dog. Bailey deserves to live somewhere she can flourish, rather than survive. When she is away from her anxiety triggers, Bailey is a playful pup who loves to chase her ball, run, eat peanut butter and snuggle up in bed. We are confident this pretty lady will find the perfect family.
