'GUNNER', NEEDS A LOVING HOME OR FOSTER AND/OR RESCUE, WAITING MONTHS AT MARICOPA SHELTER GUNNER - ID #A4559307 Maricopa Shelter, Phoenix, AZ Gunner, a handsome black german shepherd with a tiny bit of chow perhaps in him, has been waiting patiently at the Maricopa shelter for months for an owner who never came. We are desperately looking for a good home or foster to give him the love he deserves. Gunner is estimated to be 6 years young and weighs 75 lbs. Volunteers who have met him said, 'Gunner gets very excited when you come up to his kennel by wagging his tail non stop to take him out, he's an easy kennel pull and return, he pulls towards the exit door, once outside he pee's for 1-2 minutes several times, he is potty trained, he stops pulling once we get out to the grass area, he doesn't react to cars or people riding bikes, he will pull towards other dogs at times, but takes correction pretty well. He takes his treats gently, knows sit, he loves to play with toys. He allowed me to give him lots of pets.' Gunner was adopted at one point from the shelter, but was returned for going after their cat, so no cats please. He plays more rough and rowdy and social like a shepherd might be, but he should have a doggy meet and greet if there is another dog in the home. He is not recommended to homes with children under 12.
