About Gumbo

Hello, my name is Gumbo and I am a highly energetic Boxer mix. I love to run and play, but I don't play well with other dogs (I don't know how to play without biting them). I am not TOO bad with cats, but I can get a little too overexcited... Kids, however, are my favorite! I am highly intelligent but a little mischievous - I have figured out how to work my Mom's baby gate. I love to destroy chew toys (even the ones that are indestructible) and play tug-o-war. I would really do well with a good size backyard where I can run (supervised) some of my energy out. I still need a bit more leash and desensitizing training (which I am currently receiving already) and socialization (which can be tricky since I don't really like other dogs). I will need a strong alpha in my life, because I want to be the alpha and I am very persistent. I need an experienced dog owner who knows how to work with willful pups. But if that right person finds me, I am full of love and affection and all I want to do is love on my people and be loved. I am also very handsome and soft and get compliments all the time. I got in a spat with a neighborhood dog, and now they are demanding I leave. My Mom and Brother are heartbroken, but have no choice but to rehome me.
