About Fitz

Fitz is a darling senior boy. He's a healthy 11 years old except for a skin allergy and weighs 22 lbs. He's neutered, microchipped and UTD on all his vet needs. He gets along great with his foster mom's two female Bostons. One of her girls is an alpha and him being on the submissive side, lets her run the show. His behavior is unknown around male dogs and we don't know if he's good around cats, so a home without them would be best. Fitz is a laid back boy, but will get excited for treats and will twirl for them. He has free range of the kitchen with his Boston sisters while his foster mom is out, but tends to mark. He's housebroken though and is good if let out at least 4-5 hours or less so a home with someone there all or most of the time would be best. Fitz does not like leashes of any kind. He will grab, shake or tug on them even it they're on another dog. For this reason, it is not recommended he be walked on a leash and a secure fenced yard will be a must for his exercise and toilet duties. Since Fitz doesn't like to be restrained, he will need some sedation when going to the vets or being groomed, e.g. toenails clipped. Fitz's foster mom said he was slow to get to know but now loves to be scratched and petted. He's not real excitable, but food can do it for getting him revved up. He will talk back to you in a playful manner and is so sweet. She said he is loving and a kind dog with joy and plenty to offer in the right home. Fitz is fostered in Hopewell, VA.
