About Sam

Adoption Fee: $35
Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Sam, needs a home. His owner died in a head-on car accident last week. The only survivor, his human mom, is in deep recovery and cannot have him around to corral her and potentially knock her over. She cannot care for him at his size. She is choosing to release him out of love and the hopes he'll get more attention and exercise elsewhere. He seems to want to be outside more than she can get him out there in her condition. He is red Australian cattle dog approximately 95 lbs, eight years old & came from an Amish farm in Pennsylvania. He's very protective of his human family. He tries to corral people as is the way his breed as prone to do. Sam is filled with personality! He knows basic commands, sometimes he chooses to listen to you but other times you must get more stern. He is highly intelligent and a little high maintenance. He gets a little carsick on long trips. He loves to be hugged and to be scratched by his tail. He definitely wants more exercise and he can't get it where he currently is.
