About CASSIDY

***NEEDS FOSTER or FUREVER HOME*** CASSIDY is sweet, happy, and very affectionate almost 2 year old who is only 54 pounds. She is a hugger! She has won the hearts of her rescuers and everyone that she meets. Her blend of Catahoula, Lab, Black Mouth Cur, and American Foxhound makes her especially beautiful and smart. CASSIDY walks well on a leash. CASSIDY loves people, dogs, and children (cats, no so much). She is enjoying off-leash doggy playgroups at her boarding spa. She loves to run and play outdoors, so a big yard with a good fence is a must. CASSIDY was lucky enough to go on a sleepover where we learned that she is a soft-mouthed, patient, smart dog. She loves her people. She learned about potty training by sitting at the back door and not being able to come in until she pottied. We learned that she takes barriers up in the home very seriously; she never jumped over or tried to move them. CASSIDY never jumped on the furniture, even when invited. She slept through the night on her dog bed. CASSIDY loves furries, stuffies, and learned about fetch very quickly. She also likes to play with her chew treats, tossing them around, pouncing on them, and finally chewing them. As with most dogs, when she was tired of chewing, she would attempt to bury them in the house or run to the back door with it likely to bury outside. She did not resist when we took a piece out of her mouth. CASSIDY appears to be a hunter. She liked to sit in front of the resident bird and stare, whimper, and bark. She was scared when the neighbor's dogs started barking and tried to run back into the house, but she seemed better the second time that it happened. CASSIDY was OK during car travel. She needed a little help to get in/out the first time and really never sat comfortably. She did paw at the window so that she could get it to roll down and did stick her head out. The second time in car and she was fine. The sleepover home believes that she is smart and would be easy to train as long as it was proper positive reinforcement training. BACKGROUND: CASSIDY was found in north Lubbock, TX with her 7 brothers and sisters when they were 8 weeks old. They were rescued and placed in a foster home. The rescue in Texas had to close because of owner health reasons, so FFAR offered to help.
