Beautiful, healthy, apparently full-blooded, young, female red heeler found on the side of the road with a chewed-off rope tied so tightly around her neck that it was choking her. She had that classic 'lost dog' look about her when I first spotted her in the wood line on the side of the road. I stopped and backed up about a quarter of a mile and she came running up to the car and jumped right in, overjoyed to be 'found'. We brought her home, fed and watered her and tried introducing her to our three dogs but she was extremely aggressive so we kept them separated initially. Over the course of a few days she gradually shifted out of survival mode and found her place in the pack. She is a very sweet, affectionate dog and if we weren't already one dog over our limit we would definitely keep her.
