About Millie

Millie was found on a reservation outside of Wilcox and a good Samaritan reached out to the rescue. She is approximately 11 months old and weighs about 40 pounds and will be a solid medium size dog as an adult. She has been an awesome foster dog for her family, she is easy going, can occupy herself, and has been a joy for them to have. She is dog friendly, has great dog manners, and will do well with another playful dog, or just hanging out with one that may not be. She is a super duper smart girl and learns very quickly. She is very treat motivated, and she is so fun to teach. She knows alot of basic cues already. She is crate trained, potty trained, and has nice house manners. She loves to be outside exploring, she's very curious and loves to search and chase the lizards. She is also very playful, loves her toys, plays fetch, and loves tug. She enjoys her daily walks, has pretty good leash manners, but will pull and tug when seeing bunnies, lizards, etc. But redirects very quickly. She loves her people deeply, she bonds quickly, and is a extremely loving and affectionate dog. She can be protective, so her new family must be ok with her wearing a muzzle out in public. She may not do well with strangers, therefore, we are looking for a home that is relatively quiet, not a lot of other people coming and going. No kids, no grandkids. She's going to make an awesome dog for the right family or person, if you are interested, let us know! We will be setting up meetings with a $50 deposit that goes towards your adoption fee if you adopt. You will need to do video of interior and exterior of home in lieu of the homecheck as the first step in the adoption process. Second step will be filling out the questionnaire and returning it. Once we receive those, and we feel you are a good potential match for the dog, we will ask for the meet and greet fee. Once the fee is received we will setup a appointment for you to meet the dog. If we feel like we have a good match, and you want to adopt, we will have a an adoption contract for you to fill out, and pay the remainder of the fee by cash or check only. We are a FORCE FREE rescue. The adoption contract you will be signing specifically states that you agree to NEVER use any aversive methods nor tools like a shock, prong or choke collar. We are never sure about breed because we do not do DNA (we make our best guess), so if that is important to you, this dog may not be the right choice for you. Please, consider everything when making a decision to adopt a dog. As part of your adoption package, each dog will be fully vaccinated (Da2PP, Rabies), have a microchip, and be spayed/neutered. You may need to come back to us to complete shots, spay or neuter, hw test. You will receive 6 mths of HW preventative.You will receive a free bag of premium food, as well as a gift card from Choice Pet Market if you live in one of the designated zip codes . Training is MANDATORY and will be scheduled at a later date and place.
