Copper has been with is since she was a young puppy. As you can see, momma was a Red Heeler, Dad was a Blue, and she has the attributes of both. Born almost white, she darkened over a year to her current coloring. She is a very energetic female and wants to be the first dog at everything... first to get pet, first to eat, first in and out of the car, She dominates over the other two older dogs we have and wants to literally 'heel' our Husky which drives our Husky crazy. Copper really belongs in a 'one dog' house. She is incredibly agile, physical, and will easily hike 10-12 miles and then want to play at the end of the day. We now have a one year old granddaughter and her heeler attitude is incompatible with having a baby in the house, so we are looking to re-home her in a home where folks have an active lifestyle and hike often. She listens well, and will stay with you off lead, but any dog who comes up to her in an aggressive manner will be warned by Copper that she has a 'personal space'! She has never bitten a human, but with other dogs in the house she can get growly if they don't mind their manners. That is why she should be in a home where she is the only dog. We do not want to see her go, but we do not want our granddaughter fearful or worse, injured in rough play.
