Baltimore, MD Parker is available for adoption! another video of Parker: https://youtu.be/NVWswl6IHPE Parker was abandoned at a rest stop in Maryland. He was so fearful and would not go near anyone. He was starving and in agony loaded with fleas and ticks and internal parasites. He also had a cherry eye. His cherry eye was repaired when he was neutered and was successfully treated for the parasites. Animal Control had to trap Parker in order to get him safe. Once at the shelter, he was totally shut down. He wanted nothing to do with humans. His time was up when we rescued this little fella. You can tell whoever owned Parker, was not a kind human. He was abused for sure and has a hard time trusting new people. He is just fearful but has no aggression. It will take him extra time to warm up to new people. Parker is now a healthy boy but still fearful. We have no doubt he will come around with time and space needed to allow him to trust his new humans. This sweet boy is very playful. He is just a puppy being only 8 months old. He weighs 32 lbs. He is neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines and flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Parker was listed by shelter as a Beagle mix. He may have some Boxer in him, possibly Vizsla or Rhodesian Ridgeback. He sure uses his paws like a Boxer when he plays though. He is a bouncy and happy little fella who would benefit having a confident dog at his new home who can show him the ropes. We don't think he would do well with young children since they may make him even more nervous. He would do best with a dog-savvy adopter who can continue to work with him by gaining his trust and loyalty. Parker would not do well with city-life. He will do better in a home in the suburbs or country with possibly a nice fenced yard to romp in.
