About Biscuit

Meet Biscuit, an aptly-named, 3-year old lab/hound mix who enjoys eating snacks, learning new commands, and being with his owners. This healthy, 50-lb boy is available in the (areas). He is looking for confident owners who can teach him that he doesn't need to protect his home and people. Biscuit is a smarty pants who knows how to sit, down, place, roll over, wait, and give paw. Additionally, he is crate trained and potty trained, and he does well when his owners leave. Biscuit's ideal person would put his busy brain to work, maybe playing games with him or teaching him more tricks. He also loves playing at dog parks and daycare, and listens well to directions. Though he has many canine friends, Biscuit values his human friends most of all and is very loyal. He loves giving and getting love! He would do well as an only fur-kid or have a compatible and playful dog brother or sister. Of course, no one is perfect, and one of Biscuit's weak points is his leash manners. He is an excellent player and listener at both daycare and the dog park, but the frustration of being restrained can trigger him. This can be addressed, but Biscuit needs a confident, experienced owner. He also has guarded his house when new people visited, and this behavior seems to be fear-based. Biscuit growls and barks at strangers and though he's been nippy at times, the different handling styles of his first owners have confused him. (He has never bitten.) Biscuit needs time to get used to new things and appreciates space when he eats, drinks, and sleeps on his doggy bed. Biscuit is a wonderful dog who will excel with a confident, experienced owner who is committed to implementing structure and continuing this smart dog's training. Biscuit has little experience with children, therefore a child-free home is needed.
