About Haylie

Haylie is about 8 years old and has been with our family for 4 years. She has been the world's BEST dog. She is sweet, loving, playful. She loves to go for walks, cuddle on the cough with you, hang out in the kitchen while you cook in case you drop something, and be in the same room as you. She sleeps under the covers in the bed or in her crate. She loves to lay in the sun outside on a nice day. She loves to play tug of war, run laps around the house. Unfortunately, she is dog and cat aggressive. We have been managing this for years with a muzzle and a lot of training. She cannot be around other animals and struggles even seeing other dogs on our walks. She got out of our house a couple years ago and attacked our neighbor's dog without provocation, causing significant harm. She has also tried to attack our parent's cat. She has a strong prey drive. We brought home a baby just a few days ago and it is clear that Haylie does not like the baby. She barks, growls, and lunges toward the baby when the baby makes any noises. We have a trainer that we have been working with before and after the baby and she is showing small signs of improvement but unfortunately we do not feel that she can stay in our home. We have to keep our daughter safe. It wouldn't be fair to Haylie either, she would end up locked away from the family and alone, which would be a huge change for her and not a fair way for her to live. We want to find a great home for her. She is a wonderful pet, well trained, house trained, knows many commands. She is smart, sweet, goofy. Just the best dog. We are completely heartbroken to have to rehome her.
