About Rusty

Adoption Fee: $385.00
Australian Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Rusty.....He is a beautiful 2 year old Merle Aussie with specks of blue in his eyes. Rusty is full of energy and he loves to run and play....... We are updating Rustys information since we have finally been able to get him in at our vet. He did test positive for lime but is asymptomatic. Which means he has it, but has no symptoms. We have started him on his antibiotics which he will take for 30 days. After that he will have no further treatments as he will recover fine. He also had his heartworm test which was negative, his vaccinations, heartworm/flea&tick prevention. Rusty was not neutered at this vet appointment as our vet is overbooked on surgeries. Currently we have him scheduled for the 27th to be neutered. If he is adopted before his neuter he will go home on a 30 day neuter contract. As of right now Rusty is ready for is forever home. We will be send his medical records and medication home with him so it can be continued. Rusty is good with other dogs. He loves to run and play. He would do best in a home with lots of room for him to run. We will not adopt him to anyone living in an apartment or condo. Rusty weighs 45 lbs. And would love to have a fur sibling his size or larger to play with. We aren't for sure how he is with cats or livestock. He doesn't seem like he would eat your cat, but if your a cat person and you have concerns then you may not want to apply to adopt him. We do not have cats in our rescue so we can't say for sure how he would be. Rusty is young and will be great with the right person/family to love him. If you have ever had a herding breed you know exactly what I'm talking about when I say he is extremely smart but needs guidance. I personally own a corgi, who isn't far off from an Aussie. Both are very loyal and loving. Rusty is very smart and does listen and try to please. If you are interested in his adoption please text or email us to request an application. Thank you all for keeping up with him for the past couple weeks. If you have emailed about him and did not get an email in return please contact us again. We were on hold with him until we had information from our vet.
