About Josette

See Josette's video here too!Note: Josette has been diagnosed with KCS (dry eye) which is advanced, due to neglect. The ophthalmologist she has seen said that she can see shadows out of her left eye and the vision out of her right eye (which we are trying to save) is like 'looking through a muddy windshield.' Ideally, her new home will be able to give two eye meds a day, and an 'eye lube' ointment four to six times a day, for the rest of her life. Luckily, Josette is very accepting and tolerant of these treatments. Josette is a sweet, calm girl, who is very affectionate and definitely prefers being inside with her human. Because she was taken from a bad environment where she went through some rough times, she needs gentle, positive reinforcement that she is a good girl. She has come a long way in her foster home and will make a perfect companion dog. Josette loves playing with her toys and will even take them to bed with her! She enjoys car rides, soft comfy places to sleep, doesn't bark very much and other than occasional bursts of energy, is not very active. Josette is 5 years old and weighs 54 lbs.; she is housebroken, likes her crate, knows basic commands (in Spanish too!) and walks well on a leash. She has not been around kids in her foster home, would probably do okay with a mild mannered male dog companion, but no cats or other small animals, please.
