Currently in foster in Western Washington. Ready for family! Reese is a male 3 mos old (DOB 19 Jan 2021) 10 lb Terrier/Heeler mix He will probably be a small to medium sized dog as an adult. He is an energetic, affectionate pup that likes other dogs and pups. He is a great companion for an active family with a secure fence, children over 6 years of age and another dog. Terrier/ Heeler mix experience is recommended . He is an indoor dog. He will like walks, car rides, toys and dog beds. He will require daily walks and dog training once he has all his shots. He loves to play and so far only chews on his toys. He likes tug o war and chasing his tail. You can put food down and he doesn't Gobble it up he grazes. He is very respectful to the foster dogs. He doesn't pester the fosters dog at all he is perfect, if the other dog doesn't want to play he will entertain himself. If the other dog does want to play he's all for it, just perfect! . Very quiet! We haven't heard him bark once yet. Doesn't mind his bath. He is fine in his kennel. He goes in and doesn't cry. He naps in there during day with the kennel door open, so he's perfectly trained to use it as his 'safe/sleeping space. Very gentle when taking treats. He prefers you put the treat on the ground rather than take it from your hand. Snuggles wonderfully during nap time on the couch. He is great company and not at all needy. He doesn't require you to constantly entertain him (many puppies do and if you do not they are getting into things they should not. He is just fabulous�'�|. If you are busy he entertains himself with his toys. We foster dogs for rescues and assist them in adopting/rehoming of their pups/dogs by listing on this site. Many dogs posted here are available to pre adopt NOW directly from the rescue. The only ones in foster in the NW specifically state that. We have very few fosters so most need to be pre adopted. All adoption fees go towards rescuing more dogs in need. No one receives a salary. Shayne's Fosters is not responsible for any experience you have with any dog you might see posted on this site. They are the property of the sponsoring rescue who will supply all medical supporting records which is given with each dog when adopted. Our adoption fees cover all medical costs to make sure the pups are appropriately vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and spayed/ neutered. It also covers the cost of our unit's transportation cost from Texas and the necessary health certificate documentation. The fees also include a negative heart-worm test for any dogs over 6 months. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and a myriad of other vetting. If the adoption fees seem high (which never cover the true cost of rescue), we recommend fostering for a good rescue. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees.
