About Mateo

Mateo is a sweet and smart full-tailed 1 1/2 year old buff boy whose owner could no longer care for him due to her chronic medical illness so she sought the help of FCCR....and we are so glad this boy is now with us- he is such a delight. Mateo is super friendly and is gentle with all dogs and people he meets, walks well on a leash- but prefers to potty off a leash so we will want a home where he has a backyard where he can wander around and play in. He loves toys and is non destructive...unless of course it is a piece of paper , then he becomes a 4-legged shredder :-). Mateo loves to cuddle at night after a day of play, and rides well in a car- in fact he is a great co-pilot and companion, specially when the trip involves a puppacino! He is an intelligent 28 lb boy who learns quickly, specially when treats are involved! Mateo is still a puppy at heart so he will need training in basic commands, specially at staying still and sitting down - he is not fond of being restrained or being put in situations where he has limited movement. Also, Mateo is a chatty little boy who will tell you when he wants to go outside to potty, or when he wants to play - but you will have to learn HIS signals- no worries though, his foster mom knows them and will share them with you.
