About Aleu

Meet Aleu! Half Siberian Husky and half Transylvanian Hound. She is 2 years old. Quite possibly a perfect mix of both her breeds, she has endurance and speed and an eye for hunting. She would make an amazing running partner. She also gets along with every dog she meets, as long as they're good natured as well! She will definitely be a dog that should be taken to a dog park regularly, or taken to daycare if possible. To start with some of the negatives, she can become anxious when not given structure and will NEED to be crated or put into her own room when alone in the house or she will find treats (both human and dog variety.) We are actively working on her leash manners and she is improving everyday, but her instincts are definitely to pull! (*aka Husky) I highly recommend using a prong collar on her as anything else will have her trying to mush ahead with her nose to the ground. And she WILL slip out of a regular flat collar and will choke herself out in a martingale. On to the positives! She is amazing at chilling out when she does get the proper stimulation and exercise! At bed time she sleeps like a log and does not need to be crated overnight. She is very good in her crate and that is 100% her safe spot. Simply say 'crate' and point. She is fully potty trained. She is a SWEETHEART. Probably the kindest, gentlest dog I've ever met. She barely barks, only when she's playing with other dogs (but she is a Husky and DOES talk! Every other silly noise in the book.) It is a riot watching her play with dogs, she absolutely loves being chased by them and wrestling (don't be alarmed by the sounds she makes!) ---------------------------------------------- A bit of background on Aleu. Her first owner acquired her when she was 8 weeks old from an accidental litter. Unfortunately her owner fell on hard times and became homeless. Though he did not give up on Aleu and lived a transient life with her until recently. He then left her in the care of a supposed friend, this lasted for a month (April 2021.) This person forgot to feed Aleu and she ended up dropping almost 10lbs in JUST a month!! She was horribly dehydrated and covered in dandruff. Her owner eventually got her out of that situation and that is where I came in. Her owner contacted me and I was able to get her. Thankfully she is improving each day!!
