About Dixie

Dixie is a 4 month old who we believe to be a Pit/Great Dane mix, who was having a rough start in life when she first arrived to us. Dixie was sickly and malnourished when she got to OKK9. Once she got the care and nutrition that she needed, Dixie started growing...and growing...and growing! The muscles and tendons in her front legs started having trouble keeping up with that sudden growth spurt, which resulted in a condition known as 'knuckling'. For a while she was having trouble walking and would tire out easily, but with a change in diet, supplements and some exercise therapy she has made great strides the past few weeks. Just look at her now!!! Dixie would do great in a home with another dog to play with.
