About Cornelius

Cornelius is a (roughly) one year old scruffasaurmutt (yes, we made up this term for a scruffy cute mutt whose origin breeds are wildly unknown). Let's get the 'ooh's, 'ahh's, and 'awww's out now before we get to the meat of what he is looking for in a forever home. We know he's dangerously cute, so don't want that to be a distraction from the specifics! Cornelius was adopted from us, but after displaying some further guarding behaviors in his home (specifically guarding his beloved adoptive mama), he was returned to us because his new family was not a fit for his training and management needs moving forward. Let's get this straight-- Cornelius loves his people. Maybe to a fault, but can you blame a young guy who has not yet secured his forever? Cornelius' ideal home would be: -Adult only. He would be willing to make an exception here if the kids were 16 years+, but be mindful that he may not do well with lots of traffic in and out of the home. -With someone who feels confident in working with a dog with guarding tendencies. Cornelius needs to learn that the world isn't out to steal his food, toys, beds, or favorite people. Respecting his space while also working with a trainer would be the best course of action. Outside of his behavioral needs, Cornelius is a spunky, adorable, lovable ball-chaser with promising potential. We want to get it right for him this time, so expect that any potential adopters will be completely committed to his success.
