About Lil Bill

Adoption Fee: $350
Chihuahua
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Lil Bill! This super cute little guy is a 2-year-old, 15.4 pound Chihuahua who was surrendered to us when his family could no longer care for him due to a military deployment. He has been living in a home with another dog being checked on by his human grandma, but they know he really needs more than just visits! When Lil Bill arrived in rescue he was afraid of everything and everyone, but it didn't take him too long to settle in! He is a big cuddler and loves to curl up next to you to sleep. Kisses and snuggles are his absolute favorite thing! Lil Bill also likes to play, and will throw a toy around and catch it. He really loves squeaky toys and is happy to play alone if no one else is around to join him. He gets along with all the other dogs in his foster home and another dog his size in the home would be fine, but is not necessary because he is all about his person! In his prior home he was around kids and was good, and he also was around cats with no problem. He goes outside to potty, and knows how to walk on a leash. A small fenced yard would be fine for him because he wants to go out to potty, and then straight back in! He doesn't seem to be the hang outside and roam around kind of guy. He can be a picky eater, and so far eats out of necessity. Lil Bill was rescued by his last owner as a puppy from a very abusive home. He was kicked a lot and is now having some occasional mild seizures that may be related. He is on medication and takes a pill twice a day to help control them. His prior owner (not the abusive one) says that the seizures are minor and happen maybe once every couple of weeks. We have had him two and a half weeks, and he has had 1 seizure that happened in the middle of the night. His neck and legs stiffen and he shakes. Afterwards he is weak and a little trembly. The episode he had with us lasted maybe a minute. He does fret a little when you are out of his sight, so a retired or work from home owner would be ideal, not just to help ease his anxiety but also in case he has one of his episodes so you can pick him up and hold him until it is over. Lil Bill has been to the vet for a wellness check, is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. He is a very loving fellow, just looking for someone to love him back! If you want to give this adorable pup a home please submit an adoption application! After all he has been through, he deserves another chance at a loving home.
