This boy is a volunteer favorite who has survived living in a shelter kennel since mid-February. He's a good dog who really needs a second chance. Jameson ACCT-A-85168 Dog - Mixed Breed (Large) Sex : Male Age : 6Y / 2M / 1W Weight : 65.60 lbs Location: Large Dog Kennel, B10 Adult-Only Home Preferred, Appears Housebroken, Single Dog Home Jameson ACCT-A-85168 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral concerns. Jameson is a six year old, male, large breed dog, who has been at the shelter since the end of February, when he was surrendered by a friend his owner's who had been caring for him for some time. Though they described him as 'very sweet and loving a sentiment ACCT volunteers echo, they also disclosed that he snapped at children (there were several in the household) and bit an adult member of the household. In shelter, Jameson has done well despite high arousal, having gone on daytrips and positively interacting with other dogs. However, Jameson recently bit a staff member, unprovoked, after returning from a walk. Jameson's long stay in the shelter is potentially contributing to a deterioration in behavior and it's in his best interest to exit. Because Jameson seems triggered by children and because he's demonstrated challenging behavior in the past, an experienced, adult only home is recommended . Jameson ACCT-A-85168 Hi folks, I'm Jameson! I've been at ACCT over two months now, and I reeally can't wait to get out. I think I'm a pretty handsome guy (and my friends from the shelter agree!), so I'm not sure why no one's taken me home yet. So, what does the perfect home look like for a hunky guy like me? I'm glad you asked! Here's what I'm looking for... - Grown-ups only! At 6 years old, I'm a grown-up myself. Kids steal all the attention away from me - I want to be your one and only! - No other pets! I'm not a fan of other animals. - An adventurous family! I looooove hiking, long walks, playing ball, and so much more. My volunteer pals just took me on a hike at Ridley State Park, and I had the BEST time sniffing along the trails! -Someone with tons and tons of love to give. I've had it ruff here at the shelter, and I'm more than ready to find that special someone! Please come meet me at ACCT today - maybe, just maybe, we'll be the perfect match. Pulled through the kennel to get outside and was unbothered by other dogs. He is extremely housetrained, so relieved himself as soon as we got outside. Sniffed around in the yard and solicited attention. Allowed all petting and handling. Played with a plastic bone and carried it around the yard. Did a fence meet with the dog Root Beer (videos) - was wiggly and tail wagging the whole time. Play bowed and kept running along fence to play. Jameson played with the bone and leaned head on handler the remainder of his time in the yard. Walked in pace with handler when returning to the building. A vet nurse approached while walking through the kennels and Jameson walked up to her and it looked like he was going to sniff, but instead he jumped up to grab her shirt, which ultimately resulted in a shallow level 3 bite to her waist. Jameson continued walking through kennel and was easily returned to his kennel. Sat at kennel door to have leash removed. Being at the shelter Igor so long is giving Jameson kennel stress he needs a nice loving home to decompress . If seemed to have a nice meet and greet at the fence with another dog however the shelter prefers him to go to a home with no pets and no kids . If you fit that bill please you maybe Jameson's only ticket out of this hell hole . Please don't let him leave in a garbage bag . To save text Kat 516 457-3678, foster or adopt. Run to the rescue where you will find peace and lo
