Courtesy Posting: CODE RED - OCEAN MIGHT BE EVERYONE'S EARTH ANGEL BUT WITHOUT A FOSTER OR ADOPTER - SHE'S GOING TO BE NOTHING BUT A MEMORY! HELP PLEASE! OCEAN, ID #79318 Manhattan Shelter, Manhattan, NY Sometimes life just isnt fair at all. This sweet little girl has been in and out of the shelter system, never really belonging to anyone for very long. Ocean was first found as a stray under weight with wounds. She was adopted and returned as her elderly adopters couldn't care for her anymore but they noted they loved how she liked to say hi and will 'happy dance' with her little paws! Adopted and returned again (with puncture wounds on her neck from a prong collar), simply because she reacts to other dogs. Today, she still waits. Waits to be noticed. Waits to be wanted. Waits to die if nobody picks her. For a girl that has so many good qualities, needing to be the only doggie shouldnt be a death sentence! A volunteer writes 'Beautiful and deep as the sea, Ocean has as many sides to her as the water. Ocean takes a minute to warm up to new handlers. She loves to go out and explore, and was happy to let off some steam on our winter walk. It took a few walks before Ocean began to let us in, and on our third walk she showed her gratitude and affection by leaning on our legs for some love. There's something so special about earning the trust and love of a pup like Ocean. And we know the love and snuggles we shared that day are only the tip of the iceberg of love this special girl has to give. If you decide to give this girl a chance, she will be your most loyal and loving friend for life. Ocean would thrive with an active family and she wants to be your only fur baby...' A staff member writes 'Meet super stunner Ocean (79318). Ocean is a 5 year old lady who has been in and out of the shelter - through no fault of her own! She is a quick learner, who has been working with our behavior team to work on leash manners. Cuddling comes naturally to this gal. She loves to play fetch but finds it hard to concentrate with birds around (as she demonstrates in the video!)' Foster Parent writes 'This sweet girl is searching for her perfect forever home. Ocean loves to go on long walks, then relax with some belly rubs and a nap. She is a huge people person, and will become instant friends with anyone she encounters. She loves attention and should go to a home where she can be the only pet. She would thrive with an owner who can dedicate time to leash training and walking out all her energy, but she has shown a great enthusiasm for pleasing her foster mom and an ability to learn quickly. Ocean really needs a Valentine this February. Will you be hers?'
